Cannabidiol – CBD orally use
The use of cannabidiol – CBD orally has been known for years in several forms – on the one hand there are capsules and edible products, and on the other hand there are direct methods such as dripping oil under the tongue and oral solutions. The most famous of the oral solutions is the Epidiolex – a medicine whose active ingredient is CBD and it is intended for the treatment of epilepsy attacks, for people (from two years of age and older) suffering from Dravet syndrome or Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.
Epidiolex is administered through a solution that is drawn from the vial with a syringe, and released in the mouth, adjacent to the inner mucosa of the cheek. This drug has a high profile of safety and effectiveness. It is produced from plants that have been growen in a controlled manner, and then in the extraction process the CBD component is separate from the rest of the components in plant.
Epidiolex is one of the few drugs based on CBD that was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency. The drug also entered the list of drugs financed by the Israely ministry of health at 2021.
The use of cannabis oil drops under the tongue has been found to be effective in the treatment and relief of various medical conditions, including chronic pain and anxiety. CBD oil is produced by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant and diluting it with a carrier oil such as coconut oil or other oils.
The use of the oil orally is done by dripping 5 drops under the tongue and holding them there for about 60 seconds, to allow them to be absorbed through the mucous membrane into the blood system. Some people drip the oil into smoothies, fruit juices and even into their morning cup of coffee.
