CBD Oil Licensing Requirements In Washington 

The state of Washington, through the WSDA, has set guidelines that would ensure that growers and distributors produce only high-quality CBD with very minimal or zero amount of THC.

Certified hemp growers in the state would have to procure recommended hemp seed cultivars. They would also have to notify the IHRP( Industrial Hemp Research Pilot Program) where they sourced their seeds. 

CBD Oil Testing Requirements In Washington

Certified hemp growers must test their products for THC levels and provide a Certificate of Analysis in respect to it. The Certificate of Analysis should define the following; 

  • THC levels 
  • Method of analysis 
  • Presence of chemical impurities 
  • Presence of microbes such as mold yeast etc. 

In Washington, hemp CBD containing no more than 4% THC is considered legal. Samples of hemp CBD that exceed the 4% THC threshold or contain heavy metals such as pesticides get discarded. 

CBD Possession Limits In Washington

Currently, there are no possession limits for hemp-derived products in the state. 

Is CBD Oil legal in Washington? Hemp-derived CBD products, including CBD oil, are entirely legal in Washington. The state-aligned its CBD laws with the Farm Bill of 2018, allowing farmers to legally cultivate and process industrial hemp across the United States.
