CBD oil is one of the most common concepts in modern natural medicine, based on active ingredients extracted from the cannabis plant. Everyone has heard of its virtues, mainly because of its widespread use by millions in Europe and the US. Still, not everyone understands CBD oil and why the word “oil” in general is linked to the active ingredient CBD. To understand what all the fuss is about CBD oil, we have summarized for you everything essential to know about it.

What Is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is a general name for extracting cannabinoids, usually phytocannabinoids, from a natural source of the cannabis plant. It undergoes extracting and refining the active ingredients present in the plant flowers. Their mass is organic solvent-based on high concentration alcohol or butane-like gas. Most times, we incorrectly referred this oil to as “Rick Simpson oil” (RSO oil for short). Still, since the original recipe for such an oil includes only a high concentration of THC and not CBD, it is appropriate to call this extract “CBD oil.” The confusion between CBD oil and Rick Simpson oil (containing THC as a primary cannabinoid) is even more profound. We used both in international studies to treat pain and different cancer. Still, it is essential to remember that the effects of CBD and THC are very different and should not be treated as similar substances in medical use.

The cannabinoid CBD is one of the two most dominant cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. It is also the second in its average concentration level in cannabis plants after THC. In many cases, CBD is called by various names and nicknames such as “medical cannabinoid” or “natural medicine” due to the significant healing properties attributed to its use. Thus the main benefit of CBD today is in the medical market and nearby markets such as medical cosmetics and natural medicine. However, the history of CBD use (included in Sativa cannabis use studies) for medical purposes dates back decades and centuries.

We at Happy Garden provide you with access to CBD’s unique healing properties through a wide range of products, including oils, creams, and candies. In many cases, medical cannabis patients find that CBD oil is the most natural and effective solution for their specific medical needs. However, there are cases where other CBD products will be a better option, depending on the individual needs. Still, CBD oil is usually the place where everyone starts their natural treatment process. This is because it provides the body first with the active ingredient.

Using CBD oil products is very simple and usually concentrates on two main consumption methods. First, the oil is intended to be consumed through subliminal oral use and direct ingestion to cause late absorption through the digestive system. The subliminal oral method provides a much more robust and faster effect and one whose peak lasts for less time and whose effect fades faster. In contrast, swallowing use is designed to provide a weaker effect and one that lasts longer. Second, it is suitable for people whose daily activities are more active and demanding. They cannot afford to function partially or be excessively controlled.

When buying CBD oil, it is vital to pay attention and not confuse it with hemp oil, an extract of natural fatty acids found in hemp plants’ seeds. Hemp – (cannabis is used for industrial purposes that do not have enough active ingredients for medical use) mainly due to many online sellers. Many people try to give hemp oils the appearance of a CBD oil and pass it off as effective for therapeutic use. The camouflage of hemp products as CBD products is harmful to patients who try these products because the natural treatment properties of CBD oil and hemp oil are entirely different. In addition, studies have examined the medical efficacy of CBD to conclude that it is the more effective of the two for treating a more comprehensive range of medical conditions.

Those who are apprehensive about the side effects of CBD oil can relax knowing that they have almost none. Unless you consider the feeling of increased fatigue that may fall on someone who has consumed a little too much of it is too short a period as a side effect. Over time, the feeling of fatigue persists, usually without a decrease in the product’s effectiveness. Due to the lack of significant side effects, CBD oil is considered the safest alternative to use in many cases, including treating migraines, chronic pain, inflammatory pain, and many other medical conditions.

Who can CBD oil help? What Are The Medical Indications Relevant To Treatment?

CBD oil is an element with high therapeutic potential in the world of natural medicine. It effectively treats pain from a chronic neurological source and those resulting from an inflammatory source. The pain anesthesia induced by CBD is based on its ability to weaken the body’s nerves and several central nerve nodes. The biochemical effect of CBD causes electrical signals that pass through these neural nodes to reach the brain. As a result, they are significantly weaker to the point of being temporarily unnoticed. They also do not cause any severe side effects that characterize the frequent use of opioid drugs for pain relief.

In the same way, CBD treats inflammation at the surface level, even below the surface, through the bloodstream. It is a primary active ingredient in various natural remedies for treating inflammation. The biological activity mechanism of CBD allows it to prevent inflammation over time and not just treat it in a focal manner. So consistent daily ingestion of CBD oil capsules has been found to monitor and prevent inflammation that can also control the development of different variants of inflammatory diseases. In inflammation treatment, studies conducted in Israel examined the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease with the help of medical cannabis in general and CBD. The findings of the study showed that CBD may help reduce inflammation caused by colitis.

A third area in which CBD has been rising as a rising star in recent years is the area of epilepsy treatment, both among children and adults. In fact, CBD is the only active ingredient in a cannabis drug, developed and registered by a British pharmaceutical company (GW) with FDA approval and currently used to actively treat tens of thousands of patients in Europe by reducing seizures, shortening their duration, and minimizing their intensity. But, again, the apparent effect manifested in seizures. The benefits of CBD in this area are based on its ability to whisper excess electrical activity in certain parts of the brain when consumed in the right amount. It works by regulating the electrical activity of neurotransmitters located at the ends of specific neurons in the brain.

Due to the long-term beneficial effects of CBD oil in the field of nerve infrastructure rehabilitation damaged by MS outbreak in elderly patients over 50 and conventional steroid-based treatment – CBD has become a legal substance in countries. Many in Europe and the United States aim to serve as a natural substitute for many painkillers (opioids) and symptoms of inflammation (steroids) that are known to have serious side effects.

Some of the valuable therapies based on CBD are not necessarily related to physiological symptoms but to mental symptoms. In this area, CBD is used to prevent anxiety, depression, and psychological and physical stress. For example, studies conducted in Switzerland have found that people who regularly consume CBD oil define themselves as calmer and happier. These studies have led to legislation allowing any person to use CBD oil freely, even without a doctor’s permission. In Israel, CBD is the primary substance in cannabis beneficial for treating people with post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety and depression. In the same way, CBD is also used to treat various characteristics of autism. Still, most often, this is done under conditions of limited research.

Advanced studies conducted in recent decades, including in Israel, have shown that CBD can be an effective treatment against certain types of cancer, especially breast cancer strains in women under 45. However, the evidence in this area is based on a mouse model Laboratory or on models of cancer cells in culture plates. Therefore, it is not possible to claim with certainty that CBD is a “cancer drug” or even a “potential cancer drug.” Because this has not been widely proven in prolonged clinical trials.

Another virtue of CBD, which is not considered a basis for medical treatment but has a beneficial effect on patients’ lives with many diseases, is its ability to regulate wakefulness and the need for sleep. The long-term use of CBD oil affects the patient causes the patient to generally control their alertness and improve sleep quality. Studies examining the virtue of CBD in the field of sleep enhancement have found that in low doses, it increases alertness. Still, at the same time, in high doses, it induces a calming, muscle-relaxing, and soothing effect. These studies indicate that daily intake of measured amounts of CBD may be an effective treatment method for sleep problems.

Different doses of CBD oil and how to know what is the right dose for you?

Proper dosage of CBD is a critical element to treat, just as in any other active ingredient. CBD should always be given to the patient in the most optimal way to consume. Unlike THC, which can easily provoke side effects of severe dizziness and even bring a new patient into a state of dysfunction and short-term motor deficits due to dizziness. However, CBD does not cause this, except in the worst case for increased fatigue. Therefore, consuming “too much CBD” is not a matter to be taken too seriously or feared. The dosage issue should be approached only as a tool to increase the effectiveness of using different CBD products.

It is first necessary to select the consumption configuration relevant to the medical condition the patient wishes to treat to know the correct dose for each patient. Only after it is known whether a patient should use a CBD oil product or a more specific product such as creams for the skin or candies. Then, the consumer will start a short process of “trial and error” on the way to finding the optimal dose. It is important to understand this dosage issue and not think that what is suitable for one product will be similar to another, as this is not usually the case.

The optimal dose will be revealed in each case individually. It varies from one patient to another and among the same patient who suffers from various medical problems. That is, the dose of CBD oil used for pain relief will not necessarily be the same dose of lotion applied to the skin designed to prevent symptoms of skin disease. So a trial and error process must be performed on each product separately.

Want to know exactly how much CBD you consume? The calculation of the dose of CBD present in a particular product begins with an acquaintance with the relevant units of measure: units of milligrams (marked with the agreed marking mg). In contrast, the standard units of measurement for measuring inflorescence products are whole grams. In any case, out of one gram (1000 mg) of inflorescence or oil, the weight (possible way to measure the mass of dissolved liquid) of the active ingredient itself (CBD) will be several tens of mg at most.

Calculating The Dosage

The calculation of the active substance present within a given cannabis product is carried out as follows:

Amount of inflorescence in units of grams

 * Concentration of the active substance in decimal representation = amount of active substance in units of grams.

For example, 0.4 grams of a T1 / C20 inflorescence with an average of 20% of CBD (0.2 in decimal representation) – the calculation will be made as follows: 0.4 * 0.2 = 0.08 grams of the active ingredient. Then multiply the result obtained by 1000 to get the result in mg units which are the appropriate units for calculating the dose of the active ingredient in cannabis products.

Therefore, the final calculation will be 0.08 * 1000 = 80 mg of active substance – this is the amount present in 0.4 grams of an inflorescence from the T1 / C20 category that contains 20% of CBD.

How to use CBD oils – how to use them properly?

The use of each CBD product will be different depending on its therapeutic purpose. Still, in general, CBD oil products are intended for consumption in one of two ways: immediate oral use through sublingual absorption of the active ingredient and ingestion, designed to activate by-products of the active ingredient through the gastrointestinal tract.

The optimal use for each patient is usually recommended by the attending physician. Still, in self-treatment, it is customary to usually start with sublingual absorption of the active ingredient. This is done by dripping a few drops of oil under the tongue and waiting about a minute afterward for optimal absorption. Suppose the required therapeutic effect is not achieved. In that case, it is no problem to increase the dose consumed at a time, if reasonable and not by jumping over 25% of the active ingredient at a time, until the desired effect is reached. Remember that although CBD does not have significant side effects, it should still be treated as an active ingredient in medical treatment when increasing the dose. Therefore it should be consumed using discretion and a high level of awareness.
