CBD does not cure anxiety and depression. However, studies have found that CBD has helped people with social anxiety disorder. Also, other studies have shown that CBD has a sustained antidepressant-like effect. CBD may also result in fewer side effects than antidepressant medication. Hence, an effective treatment for people suffering from depression.

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a healthy and normal emotion, but it is a mental disorder when it becomes frequent and prevents the individual from interacting normally. People with anxiety disorders experience intense, excessive, and persistent worry, fear, and paranoia about everyday situations. 

Is CBD Safe? 

CBD is one of the 100 active cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. CBD is mainly extracted from Sativa or Hemp cannabis. Unlike THC, CBD does not make you high. The WHO has ruled that CBD is deemed to be safe to use and without side effects.

CBD is an effective treatment for people who suffer from a lifestyle of constant stress and anxiety. Anxiety isn’t only due to traumatic experiences but also stress. Other factors may include economic difficulties and mental health issues. For people who do not want to be on regular medication, CBD can be an alternative. 

The effects of stress 

Stress has physiological symptoms that make it challenging to lead a healthy lifestyle. For example, an anxiety attack is often accompanied by symptoms like; sore stomach, pounding heart accelerations, sweating, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and weakness. 

 CBD helps with anxiety and stress.

A study was successfully held in New Zealand, where 397 adults received CBD to treat various diseases, including cancer, anxiety disorders, and chronic pain. The study reported a significant improvement in the quality of life after three weeks of treatment. The reports showed that CBD treatment improved routine, state of mind and was generally of great help to patients. In addition, 80% of the participants expressed satisfaction with the treatment and result, while 18% reported the opposite, and 2% noted worsening symptoms.

Research carried out in 2008 in the United States on men showed that giving a dose of CBD oil lowered anxiety significantly 90 minutes after giving the dosage.  

Side effects

Taking CBD orally, inhaling it, or using it topically does not appear to cause side effects. However, some individuals may experience side effects like fatigue and changes in appetite and weight.

Results have demonstrated that CBD treatment is effective for a variety of anxiety disorders :
